* Why Is Web Accessibility So Important?

There are several reasons why Web Accessibility is important:

  • Use of the Web is spreading rapidly into all areas of society;
  • There are barriers on the Web for many types of disabilities;
  • Millions have disabilities that impede access to the Web;
  • Most Web sites are required to be accessible by law;
  • Web accessibility also has spin-off benefits for all users.

Approximately 10% of the UK population has some form of disability that can affect the way that they use the Web. From a purely commercial point of view, this is too large a number to be ignored but additionally we all have a social responsibility not to exclude any group of people from realising the increasing benefits of the Web.

* Demonstrate That You are Socially Responsible.

Increasing the accessibility of your Web site and online services to a wide range of people with disabilities and other disadvantaged members of the community will reinforce your organisation's socially responsible attitude.

At Tag2, we are committed to ensuring that all of the accessible Web sites that we deliver conform to the W3C's WCAG 1.0 Guidelines.

* What are The Benefits?

There are many benefits in ensuring that your Web site is designed with accessibility in mind. Conformance with the WCAG 1.0 (and other W3C) guidelines will enhance the market share and audience reach of your Web site by increasing its general usability.
